2007 Ford Mustang FR500C For Sale
This 2007 Ford Mustang FR500C is a factory-built Ford Racing
competition car developed for Grand-Am Cup racing, not a standard
production Mustang later converted for track use. Power comes from
a 5.0-liter "Cammer" V8 rated at approximately 400 horsepower,
paired with a T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a 3.55:1 rear
8.8-inch differential. Factory FR500C equipment includes a
chrome-moly safety cage, Brembo front brakes with PFC race pads,
Ford/PFC rear brake components, Dynamic three-way adjustable
suspension with ride-height-adjustable coilovers, adjustable
caster/camber plates, an adjustable anti-roll bar, urethane
bushings, an AIM digital dash system, a C&R aluminum
radiator with integrated oil cooler, and a Ford Racing high-flow
intake system. Ford also documented the FR500C's period competition
success in Grand-Am and FIA GT4 racing, which is a big part of what
makes these cars desirable today: this is an authentic Ford
Racing-built competition Mustang with real series pedigree.
Finished in white with red stripes, this example features painted
mirror caps, a rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, front and rear
tow hooks, and 31 graphics. It rides on 18-inch Y-spoke wheels
wrapped in Hoosier white-letter tires measuring 285/645 up front
and 305/645 out back. Inside, the cockpit is purpose-built with a
single Sparco Circuit race seat with Ford Racing embroidery, a
six-point harness, a Grand-Am-specification roll cage, a
quick-release Alcantara-wrapped Sparco steering wheel, a
leather-wrapped shift knob, retained climate controls, and a
center-mounted switch panel. Equipment also includes a Sparco
4.0-liter AFFF cable-activated fire-suppressant system, digital
instrumentation, and an aftermarket exhaust system. The engine was
serviced by Roush approximately 30 running hours ago.
As a genuine FR500C, this car stands apart from tribute builds and
track-prepped street Mustangs by offering factory Ford Racing
engineering, purpose-built competition hardware, and documented
motorsports pedigree in one package. It is an uncommon opportunity
to own a real Ford Racing-built Mustang developed specifically for
professional road racing.
