The C3 Corvette is one of the most recognizable shapes in American automotive history, and the 1974 is a particularly significant one. This was the first year Chevrolet replaced the chrome bumpers front and rear with smooth body-colored urethane, giving the car a cleaner, more modern look that has aged incredibly well. It was also the last year for true dual exhaust and the last Corvette built without a catalytic converter, which makes it a milestone year sitting right at the edge of two different eras.
