Now here's a fine representative of one its manufacturers' most
coveted classic car offerings. This 1972 Chevrolet Nova SS Tribute
wears a factory-correct Silver Pewter color that appears so
distinctive that you'd likely believe it was custom-created. It
features a fresh, vital condition, with tight, consistent gaps
surrounding the doors, hood and deck lid. The front and rear
bumpers are properly aligned and show no evidence of having run
into any immovable objects, and it's badged to give a nod to its
model's top-tier Super Sport configuration.
The factory-correct black vinyl interior is in downright impressive
shape, with a pair of high-backed front buckets that straddle an
aftermarket, drop-in center console and appear to have been
installed not all that long ago, judging from their smooth,
uncreased surfaces. Glance above you and you'll see a well-fitted
headliner. Take a look below and you'll likely notice how
well-preserved the carpeting is. Floor mounted manual shifters were
a hallmark of classic Novas in Super Sport configuration, and the
example here sits within easy reach of the driver, ready to take
the transmission through its gears. The air conditioning system on
this vintage Chevy blows strong and cold, but may need a little
attention to get it back to top form and an AM/FM/CD stereo with an
auxiliary port pairs with rear-deck mounted speakers to fill the
cabin with sound.
It's not easy to find a classic from this era that can match this
Chevy's rock-solid driving condition. Its 350-cubic-inch V8,
equipped with a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, is in
particularly good form, starting right up and offering smooth
acceleration, and the 4-speed manual Saginaw transmission just
behind it shifts through its gears while putting full control of
the engine's output in the hands of the driver. Point this Nova
down the road and it'll track straight ahead, and its feather-light
power steering makes navigation a breeze. Power brakes that feature
discs up front provide a level of dependable stopping ability that
pairs nicely with frequent driving and, with an upgraded master
cylinder in place, they're well positioned to perform properly for
quite some time. The distributor cap was also recently replaced to
allow the ignition system to perform at its best.
