The 'Cuda was released by Plymouth in 1964 and evolved greatly
throughout the years. It was initially based on the Valiant but in
1970 changed over to the exclusive Chrysler E-body. This year
introduced a completely new design and really cemented the 'Cudas
spot in the muscle car world. This 1972 belongs to the 3rd
generation which was unique because it actually reverted the look
towards the 1970 model with a split grill, single headlights but
also incorporated 4 circular taillights. This car is in good
condition and was originally purchased by a service member who had
it shipped over to Europe. Upon returning to the US he had it
shipped back and eventually the car found its way to a private
collection. The body is very solid and repainted in a nice bright
Red that has a glossy finish. It has multiple factory options which
included the sport hood, OS dual racing mirrors, all tinted glass,
roof drip rail moldings, wide sill moldings, belt moldings, and
decklid moldings. The bumpers are nicely chromed and all of the
stainless trim and emblems look good. Adding to that muscle car
feel are the nice Black wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A
tires.
The car is powered by its original 340ci V8 4 barrel motor that
runs great. Everything is clean under the hood and it is topped off
with a single snorkel air cleaner. AC has been added and is a more
modern system with a Sanden compressor that uses R134a refrigerant.
Another unique feature on the car is it was factory ordered with a
3 speed manual transmission that was fairly uncommon. The car
sounds great through its factory dual exhaust that exits through
chrome tips out of the rear valance.
The interior has been redone at some point in the past and features
high back bucket seats in Black cloth. It has lap belts and the
upholstery is all in good shape throughout. Between the seats is
the manual shifter with Red knob that moves through the gears
smoothly. The dash has a very stock appearance with its original
gauges, knobs, switches and more. The trunk houses the spare and
original jack as well as the stock mat.
This very cool Mopar has a great look and runs well as well.
