This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is finished in it's original
colors of Laguna Blue over Black vinyl upholstery and powered by a
327ci / 300hp V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a
Positraction rear axle. Equipment includes power steering, power
brakes, 15? gold line radial tires, original full wheel spinner
chrome hub caps, flip-up headlamps, chrome bumperettes, rear
exhaust outlets, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and a push-button
AM/FM radio with power antenna. There is also a teak 3 spoke
steering wheel and aftermarket Vintage Air air-conditioning. This
car is one of only 2,054 examples produced in the single-year color
of Laguna Blue (978AA) and has undergone a frame off restoration
2012 to 2013. During the restoration the engine, transmission, rear
and other mechanicals were gone over and refreshed as required.
Care was taken throughout the restoration to keep the car as
original as possible and done to very good to excellent driver
condition standards. The body was stripped and any flaws given
attention by a certified fiberglass technician. It was repainted in
the original Laguna Blue color. The interior was refreshed along
with the carpets and seat covers being replaced.
The car meets the road with 15? BF Goodrich Silvertown P205/75 R15
Radial Goldline tires (a 1966 original year offering). Wheels are
capped off with original, full wheel spinner chrome hub caps.
The cabin features bucket seats newly upholstered in black vinyl
joined by original and refreshed black dashboard, carpets, and door
panels. Equipment includes a dash-mounted ignition key switch, lap
belts, a reverse lock-out shifter, and a vertical AM/FM radio. The
original, non-functioning analog clock has been replaced with a
reliable aftermarket quartz instrument.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a
tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for amperage, water temperature,
oil pressure, and fuel level. Approximately 4,250 miles have been
added since the restoration.
The 327ci V8 was factory rated at 300 horsepower and features a
Holley four-barrel carburetor, Corvette-orange colored valve
covers, and a chrome air cleaner lid, along with chrome distributor
and ignition wire channels. The 'breaker point' ignition has been
replaced with an electronic 'transistor' ignition system providing
reduced maintenance and improved performance / reliability. To
conform with factory build characteristics, various quality
inspection markings have been replicated such as on the radiator,
alternator and other components. This is a wonderful car that 100%
ready to go.
