This is an excellent opportunity to own a rare and highly desirable classic Cadillac at a great value. The market on 1950's Cadillac is very hot right now, especially for 2-door examples like this car. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of how nice this Cadillac really is.

According to the previous owner this car came from California. He said that that California black plate on the car is original to the car. Cars from California have not been exposed to salty roads, winter driving, and are generally cleaner than cars from other parts of the country. The original California black plate will be included with the sale of the car. The original owner's manual is also still with the car.

This Cadillac is numbers matching, that means the engine currently in the car is the same unit that was installed in the factory when the car was new. The last six digits of the VIN, 071070, are stamped on the engine block, pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The fragile plastic VIN tag in the driver's door jam is still present and pictured in this ad. Additionally, the VIN is stamped on the left frame rail and also pictured in this ad. All of those numbers match each other and also match the title pictured in this ad.

As a side note, this 59 is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. Exterior

The red exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the photos the paint has a good shine and smooth finish. The hubcaps are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no major curb rash. The Coker Classic wide whitewall tires are brand new with less than 20 miles on them and sized 235/75R15. Please note that these tires retain the classic look, but are modern radials to greatly improve the way the car drives. The chrome and brightwork looks very nice overall with some minor pitting and some nicks here and there. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some spots in the paint in the paint around the car and other small imperfections that were too faint to show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from five to ten feet away. This Cadillac appears to be solid. As one can see in the many photos of the underside, this Cadillac is clean underneath. As stated above, the previous owner said this car came from California so it should be less prone to rust issues. We have included specific photos of the front lower quarter panels, rear lower rocker panels, rockers, frame, and other areas most prone to rust on this generation Cadillac to show how this car looks. We believe the car was originally green over green interior with a white hardtop.

Interior

The Red and White interior of the Cadillac is in excellent condition overall. The seats look just as suburb in person as they do in the photos with no rips, holes, or split seems and show little to no wear. The interior chrome and bright work is in great shape. The gauge face is crisp and clean and the lens is clear. The carpet is showing its age, but in decent condition overall; it appears the carpet was dyed from green to red, but still shows okay. The dash is in original condition with some cracks and shrinkage. The original AM radio works and gets good reception as one can hear in the video. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The power antenna will work a bit and go up and down a few inches, but appears to be hung up a bit trying to come down. We have not tried to force it down. The door panels look excellent and to door pulls are solid. This car has not been smoked in; there are no burn marks or aroma of cigarettes what-so-ever.

The truck is exceptionally original with the original trunk mat and original cardboard liners, it is very rare to see after all these years. It is also pretty muck complete with the full size spare, jack, and jack handle.

Mechanical

This Cadillac seems to be in good mechanical condition. The 390ci V8 engine starts every time, runs well, and idles smoothly. The car drives nicely and just floats down the road. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 60mph, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brake system was recently services with a new master cylinder and all four wheel cylinders were rebuilt. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band.
The horn works as do all exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, and blower for the heater on all speeds. All of the gauges work, the temperature gauge, gas gauge, and speedometer. The gen and oil lights on the dash function correctly, going on with the key then going off when the engine is started. Even detailed items like the trunk light and glove box light still work. There are a few items not functional such as the wipers, and clock. There is a small leak from the carburetor. It does not appear to leak when the car is running, but will drip for about fifteen seconds when it is turned off then it stops. We have done our best to accurately describe the car, but there may be other bugs to be worked out so we would encourage any perspective buyer to look at the car in person if possible. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this Cadillac, especially with the windows down on a beautiful day.
