Cruising into the showroom is a sweet little 1971 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback. This vehicle has underwent a long and storied comprehensive restoration. Spanning 15 years and 2 owners the restoration process has been well documented through photos taken of the car from how it started to the complete finishing touches. Tons of new parts are all over this bad boy! A new 1600cc crate motor from MOFOCO was installed and currently has 700 miles on it.
Dual Weber carbs were installed in lieu of the original fuel injected system due to them being finicky. The dual Webers are absolutely dialed in. A few presses of the pedal and she fires right up! Photos of the underside show the cleanliness other than the overspray. A charcoal canister was installed inline of the fuel system to help with the fumes with the motor being in the rear of the car.
In the interior we have new carpet, seat belts, headliner, door panels, front windshield and all new rubber weather stripping. The vehicle does retain its original seats and steering wheels. The original glass is there other than windshield as stated. A full pioneer sound system with Bluetooth was installed and sounds great! The other neat thing about this square is it has power windows and locks! Something you definitely don’t see everyday!
The roof wrap is removable and is black underneath. It’s really neat and helps set off the car! The paint I would say is a 8-10 has a few small runs which I’ll add in the pictures and has one small dent near the rear passenger side. Overall a great build done from pure passion and care! If you’re in the market for a turn key summertime cruiser with plenty of room for all the stuff you need for a weekend then this might be for you!! Give us a call today!
