With the resounding success of the 911 SC, Porsche’s engineers were given the go-ahead to begin work on a new generation of the company’s most famous model. However, as that car would not be ready until late 1989, the ‘G-Series’ was given one final update in 1984. Called the Carrera 3.2, the new car’s enlarged engine also received updated fuel injection and ignition controllers to raise output to 207hp in US-specification (in comparison to 180hp for the US-spec SC). Additionally, the larger engine brought more easily accessible torque, resulting in a somewhat more relaxed experience at low speeds. Of course, the rest of the car was also revised, with the interior bringing previously optional equipment such as air conditioning and power windows as standard equipment in the US.

Furthermore, 1984 brought the official availability of the M491 ‘Turbo Look’ package (Supersport in the UK). Buyers who specified the package not only received the Turbo’s distinctive wide rear fenders and “tea tray” spoiler, but also the more powerful car’s heavy-duty suspension, high-performance brakes, and wider wheels. Initially only offered on the coupe, the M491 package was made available for all three body styles in 1985. Today, these cars are known for their incredible rarity (only a few 911s were ordered with the M491 package) and remain some of the most desirable examples of the Carrera 3.2.

The exquisite 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 M491 'Turbo Look' Coupe featured here is finished in classic and desirable Guards Red over an impeccably kept Black leather interior. This investment-grade Porsche 911 was just released from one of the most prominent Porsche collections in the country where it was meticulously maintained and preserved and is now ready for its next caretaker. With only 213 built in 1985, its exceptional original condition, and low miles make this the perfect example to add any premier collection. I personally believe the low production of this desired model means the investment potential will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own the very best at an investment price!
