This custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer received an extensive
nut-and-bolt ground-up restoration from 2023 to 2026 and is powered
by its rebuilt matching-numbers 350ci V-8 engine paired with its
original SM465 four-speed manual transmission and NP205 transfer
case with four-wheel drive. The drivetrain includes a Dana 44 front
differential with Selectro locking hubs and a rebuilt GM 12-bolt
Eaton Positraction rear differential. Drivetrain components were
inspected and resealed, and new U-joints were installed, including
the driveshafts. The chassis features a modified BDS 4-inch
suspension lift with Bilstein 5100 shocks, and the frame is
reinforced around the ABS steering box. Stopping power is handled
by a new CPP brake master cylinder with booster, new front rotors
and calipers, and rebuilt rear brakes with new emergency brake
cables. The body was stripped, epoxy-primed and finished in Matrix
Performance Medium Olive poly with SPI universal clearcoat. The
one-piece removable top is finished in White Satin Valspar
single-stage polyurethane. It rides on powder-coated stock Rally
wheels finished in Argent Silver with beauty rings and hubcaps,
wrapped in 33/12.50R15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires. The interior
features a newly installed Highlander Parchment interior with Olive
carpeting, along with restored original parchment seat belts by
Snake Oil Products in Texas. Additional features include a Modern
Old Air Products heating and air-conditioning system, replaced
glass and rubber (including top seals and weatherstripping), and
new rod ends. This truck was located in New Mexico before moving to
Southern California in 2019. It has been driven 349 miles since the
restoration.
