Survivor Classic Car Services Chicago is proud to present this
resto-modded 1991 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1. Under the hood is a
technological marvel; the product of General Motors guidelines,
Lotus engineering, and Mercury Machine manufacturing. Given the
name LT5, this 5.7L V8 was given dual overhead cams, a far stray
from the typical pushrod arrangement. High-flowing cylinder heads,
and a plethora of bespoke parts pushes a factory LT5 to around 375
horsepower. The engine in this ZR-1 has had a number of upgrades
bringing power just north of 500! Starting with the Haibeck 500
package, the cylinder heads, injector housings, and plenum are
ported. this alone boosts power significantly! The Camshafts have
been upgraded to units from Callaway to really make this aluminum
powerplant sing!
Power is sent through a new old stock replacement transmission to
the 4.11 rear gear spinning the massive 315 wide rear Mickey
Thompson tires. The ZR-1 was repainted around 2014 and still shows
very well. A cacophony of upgrades can be found all over the
'Vette, including a number of interior customizations, R134a A/C
retrofit, drilled & slotted disc brakes front & rear with EBC pads,
GE Nighthawk headlights, a MOMO steering wheel & pedal covers, and
a booming aftermarket stereo setup. this corvette has had plenty of
service, making it ready to roll for the next owner. The engine has
been completely re-gasketed, virtually every sensor has been
replaced, the suspension was given a full overhaul front and back,
and a custom fuel pump module was engineered, designed, produced,
and installed to keep the LT5 fed a constant stream of fuel!
This ZR-1 sounds like a dream, thanks to the Stainless Works
headers feeding into a Billy Boat 3" dual exhaust. You'll want to
keep winding this exotic V8 out to redline time after time just to
hear the sweet sound of horsepower! Hop in and prepare to
takeoff!
