The 1956 Pontiac Star Chief Convertible was the flagship of the Pontiac line, representing the pinnacle of the brand's luxury and performance during the mid-1950s. Known for its bold "Jet Age" styling and substantial V8 power, it was a standout model that captured the optimistic spirit of post-war America
I purchased this vehicle from its first owner in 2005 here in the Central Valley of California and since then I have restored with lots of love to its original beauty.
It has a 316 size engine that has been totally rebuilt, it runs beautifully with a 650 CFM Earl Brock Carburetor. The transmission is a four speed. Strato-Flight Hydra-Matic transmission, which has also been rebuilt, including the rear end also new brake shoes which are all drums with new cylinders and exhaust system has a nice rumble to it with 40 series Mufflers. The vehicle has been painted to its beautiful yellow and white which is the original color it came with from the factory. The odometer mileage reads 60,136 as of today which is the original miles on the body and not the engine because it has been rebuilt three years ago.
I truly enjoy and love this vehicle on wine trails, Sunday drives and car shows. This Pontiac has won first place in the valley competing against all 50s era, GM motor vehicles, including Cadillacs.
