The nickname “Ölklappe” refers to the unique external oil filler cap in the right rear fender – a solution that Porsche used for only one year. The idea was practical, comparable to a fuel filler cap, but in practice, this frequently led to confusion at gas stations, sometimes resulting in fuel being accidentally poured into the oil tank. Porsche therefore decided to scrap this design quite early on, making this version exceptionally rare and highly sought after by collectors today.
