For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Corvette in Madison, Mississippi

Vehicle Description

1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sale

For sale is this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette coupe Serial Number 194375S108289. The car which had final assembly on January 28, 1965, has been owned since Dec 2008 by a good Corvette enthusiast owner located in Diamondhead, Mississippi on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I am helping sell the car, which is now located in Madison, Ms. The car is equipped with the original L79 327 cubic inch V8 engine factory rated at 350HP. It has its original M20 Muncie 4 speed transmission and original 3.70 ratio positive-traction rear end.  All numbers are a match including all the casting dates. The numbers on the stamp pad on the block read 510829 F0116HU. The car is a rare factory air-conditioned car and was also equipped with Soft Ray tinted glass (all manufacturing date codes on the glass are correct), telescoping steering column, factory teak steering wheel, AM/FM radio and power antenna and Chevy’s Comfort and Convenience option. Mileage (the odometer was reset to 0 when the car’s restoration was completed in 2005) shows as 4,639. The car has the correct part numbers for its alternator, starter, windshield wiper motor, radiator, steering box, overflow tank, thermostat housing and carburetor. The current owner bought and put on knock off style wheels, but the 5 original wheels and hub caps go with the sale. New Coker Gold Line tries were bought Feb 2026. The paint is Code QQ Silver Pearl Metallic. The paint on the car, last painted in 2001, is excellent. The brakes were rebuilt with many new parts in this process and are excellent. All lights, blinkers, headlight buckets, radio and power antenna operate well and the A/C blows cold. The tires are new Coker Gold Lines bought in Feb. 2026.

The car was purchased in November 1990 by a gentleman who was a General Motors master mechanic. The body was removed from the frame, and restoration was started that took until 2005 to complete. The car was not driven during that period.  Every nut and bolt on the car was touched. We have all the receipts in a file 2” thick showing all aspects of this restoration plus photos to document same. The level of the restoration was such that numerous factory markings, crayon dabs and paint dabs are correctly included. Crayon markings, for example, were used to indicate how many body shims were needed at each body mount. There are paint daubs on the steering box, brake lines, drive shaft and several other locations.  The engine was rebuilt in 1991; transmission 4/97; new upholstery 8/03; instrument cluster rebuilt 9/03; headlight bucket motors rebuilt 4/04; new seat belts 4/05, etc. etc. The mileage on the car when the current owner bought it in 12/08 was 457 and now shows 4,639. Thus, in the past 18 years the car has been driven 4,182 miles and a total of 4,639 since the restoration was completed in 2005. No expense has been spared for the restoration of the car and on its care and upkeep since that time. In preparation for this sale the current owner has replaced the radio (a newly rebuilt correct Am/FM unit) and speaker (which is different for an A/C car); new R headlight bucket motor, new power steering pump, new Coker Silvertown gold line radial tires and a full service and detail. The car appears - at least since its restraion - to have never have been driven in the rain.

Chevrolet built 23,562 Corvettes in 1965. Of these 8,186 were coupes. Total production of ’65 coupes with the L79 engine, 4 speed transmission and factory A/C was 337 (1.4% of total production). Many car enthusiasts feel that the L79 small block Chevy engine was the best Chevy small block engine ever built.  This is a RARE car. It has not been judged by the National Corvette Restorers Society NCRS) but it would do very well in their Flight Judging.  The car is an excellent driver. Fast, tight and comfortable.  It can be seen, inspected and driven in Madison, MS (near the intersection of I55 and I20 in Central Mississippi.
