A true desert survivor here with JUST 33,456 original miles! Purchased from the original family ten years ago, this truck stayed with the original owners for 44 years! Bought and used as the family farm truck near the Mojave Desert of California, this truck to this day had NEVER been exposed to winter. No salt EVER. Factory chalk marks everywhere.
Purchased by it's most current owner from the grand daughter of the original owner in his 90's from the very farm it spent it's entire life on, this truck made the transporter trek all the way to Massachusetts were it was treated to some much needed maintenance. Including but not limited to.....
- Four wheel brake replacement. Drums, rotors, calipers, master cylinder
- Rear springs
- All 4 shocks
- Stainless steel exhaust
- Tune-up
- Electronic ignition
- Heater core
- All belts & hoses
- Fluid changes
Original two tone paint with patina. No paint or body work ever performed! Medium Olive and white two tone. This is a factory Custom Camper edition which includes a big block 402 V8 and a four barrel carburator. A Turbo Hydromatic transmission, factory A/C, power steering and brakes. Cheyenne equipment group, tinted glass and more.
The interior was refurbished recently with a custom front seat with new, period correct hounds tooth fabric, a new padded dash, door panel inserts and carpet. The headliner and seat belts are original but looks like new. The pictures do not do this interior justice!
Mechanically this truck is completely turn key and reliable. The A/C system is still pressurized with R-12 freon but when the compressor started making noise it was disconnected electrically. The compressor will need replacing to fully function but no leaks in the system which has not been converted which is amazing. The AM radio still fires right up with clear and clean sound. All the electronics work, lights, ect. This truck is ready to go.
A time capsule of sorts. A reminder of what trucks really were at one time. Work horses. Bouncing and sliding on bench seats with three of your closest friends not in seat belts. Many a fourth in the bed out back hitching a ride. Glenn Campbell on the radio. It was the 1970's after all. Truck owners of todays trucks have no idea and missed out.
Check out the over 100 photos of this amazing survivor and ask for my walk around video which I'd be happy to send along. Need transport? I can do that too! Just ask! Probably less expensive than you think.
