1968 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 138 VIN, 4 SPEED, VINTAGE A/C, FRONT DISC BRAKES! This Chevelle SS,138 VIN is drop dead gorgeous in a rare factory color Tuxedo Black with white accent stripes running down both sides and over the header panel. It has been color sanded and polished to a glossy finish. The body is straight down both sides and has excellent fit and finish. Up front: the grill, front bumper and emblems all look new. All the stainless trim is polished. The door handles, mirrors and marker lights have been replaced. The rear bumper, tail light bezels and lenses are also like new. It rides on a set of Cragar 5-spoke SS wheels,15x7's with 225/70/15 BFG T/A radials in front and 15x8's with 275/60/15 BFG T/A radials in rear for that aggressive stance it deserves. The black bucket seat interior has been re-done. The bucket seats have been re-upholstered and new foam added to both the front and back seats. It has newer door panels, carpet and headliner. It has the optional roll tach and factory gauge package which all work as they should. Looking forward at the dash it is nice, all the lenses are clear. The dash pad is in good shape, no cracks. All the knobs and dash vents are in nice condition. It has its factory three spoke SS steering wheel with a tilt steering column. It has a retro AM/FM radio with cassette player and CD player mounted nicely in the trunk. The A/C and heater controls slide with ease. There are front and rear GM seat belts and SS 396 style floor mats. The motor compartment is detailed with its period-correct 396 ci motor, casting number 3935440. It has a March Serpentine System with power steering, A/C that blows cold, and a Be Cool 4 core aluminum radiator with dual electric fans for those hot summer nights. It has a set of Hooker ceramic coated long tube headers, factory chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner. It has the factory correct cadmium plated brake booster, dual master cylinder and correct spring type battery cables. The engine compartment is finished in gloss black. The undercarriage is all clean metal and highly detailed with no signs of rust or patches. The front suspension and steering components look good. It has a newer front tubular A-arm The bottom of the motor is clean along with the M20 Muncie transmission. It has a newer 2.5" dual exhaust system that dumps out the rear with correct cow bell style tips. In the rear is a 12-bolt posi rear end with 3:31 gears. It also features power front disc brakes. The E-brake assembly is complete and working. The trunk is all clean metal, no signs of patches. There is new weather stripping. It has a factory trunk mat, spare tire and jack assembly.
