For Sale: 1961 Ford Galaxie in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

INTRODUCTION: It's claimed to be a $300,000 build-and I can absolutely believe it! The level of meticulous craftsmanship throughout this car is evident everywhere you look. This is a truly stunning piece. Whether you're a Ford, Chevy, or Mopar enthusiast, it really doesn't matter-this car transcends brand loyalty. And let's be honest, how often do you even see a '61 Starliner? It's a beautiful car to begin with, but what's been done here sends it into another stratosphere. This build was also selected to showcase the brand-new "Mulholland" wheels-the very first set ever installed on a car. It was featured at SEMA and used in their national marketing, which speaks volumes about the caliber of this build.

EXTERIOR: The body is laser-straight with precise, consistent panel gaps throughout. The jambs have been smoothed, giving it a clean, refined look. And what a great-looking body it is-the roofline flows beautifully into those signature tailfins. The paint is like red glass-slick, deep, and mirror-smooth. The door handles have been shaved and now open by remote for a seamless appearance. All the stainless trim has been polished, and the chrome has been replated to a brilliant shine. I especially love the three chrome stars on the rear roof pillar-such a cool detail. The glass has been replaced with a light smoke tint. The bumpers have been smoothed and the rear has oval exhaust tips coming right through it. It also features a custom grille and tail panel. The round taillights are finished with '59 Cadillac-style centers, adding a subtle custom touch. It's sitting on 2-piece forged American Racing "Mulholland" wheels in ceramic gray with polished lips-18x7 up front and 20x9 in the rear. The air ride system lets you adjust it to the perfect stance.

INTERIOR: The interior is beautifully designed and expertly executed. The upholstery is all ultra leather which has a very soft feel. The metal trim is painted in the same "red glass" finish as the exterior. The dash has been completely smoothed and features a custom lower panel housing the A/C controls and vents, along with modern red digital gauges. A polished tilt steering column is topped with a very deluxe steering wheel. The door panels are fully custom molded and include square-weave, Mercedes-style carpet along the lower sections. The flooring and custom mats are made to match. There are bucket seats front and back separated by a full-length center console, which houses the modern shifter, cup holders, stereo system, and RideTech air ride controls. The tunes are played through speakers in the doors and custom rear shelf. Above, a molded custom headliner looks amazing. Comfort features include power windows, power seats, an electronic throttle pedal, and a custom brake pedal-blending modern convenience with high-end custom craftsmanship.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay is completely smoothed and detailed, including the inner fenders, firewall, and core support for a seamless, show-quality presentation. At the heart of it is a Gen 3 Ford Performance 5.0L Coyote crate engine producing 460 horsepower. It's fully dressed with modern accessories including power steering and air conditioning. The alternator and A/C compressor are polished and mounted low and out of sight, keeping the bay clean and uncluttered. It features custom-made headers and a one-off Starliner engine cover that really sets it apart. The details are exceptional throughout-polished radiator, dual electric fans, polished overflow tank, and even polished hard lines. A custom cold air intake and stainless hardware throughout complete the look. It's a perfect blend of modern performance and high-end craftsmanship.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Even the trunk compartment is a work of art. It features beautifully sculpted side panels upholstered in the same ultra-leather as the interior. The underside of the trunk lid is also fully finished-molded, upholstered, and accented with tasteful chrome trim. The floor is lined with Mercedes-style square-weave carpet, tying it in perfectly with the interior theme. A CD changer is neatly integrated into the setup and the air ride components are hidden behind the front panel.

UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame and restored on a rotisserie. The chassis was thoroughly detailed and upgraded with a custom independent front suspension featuring polished stainless tubular control arms, a custom sway bar, and rack-and-pinion steering. It rides on a RideTech airbag suspension system at all four corners. In back, a 4-link setup with tubular control arms and a custom sway bar provides excellent handling and ride quality. A custom dual exhaust system with X-pipe, mufflers, and resonators exits through polished oval tips neatly integrated into the rear bumper. The fuel system is custom as well, featuring a polished stainless tank and high-pressure lines. The brake system has been upgraded with disc brakes at all four wheels, and the emergency brake is hooked up properly. Looking up at the drivetrain, the motor is painted red and fitted with a high-torque starter. The 6-speed overdrive transmission, driveshaft, and rear end are all painted red to match, with the rear sporting a chrome cover. The frame has been completely smoothed with no visible seams or welds, then finished in glossy red like the body. The floors are pristine and coated in color-matched red bedliner for added durability.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.

CONCLUSION: This isn't just a world-class, high-end custom built to sit on a shelf. This car has been driven and enjoyed, with 6,500 miles on the build-yet it's been exceptionally well cared for every step of the way still showing like a 9 out of 10. It's a true turnkey car, ready to hit the road and put smiles on faces wherever it goes, including yours!
