GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Ford Mustang for
your consideration. Finished in a menacing Black exterior over a
purpose-built Black interior, this Mustang is far from
ordinary-this is a full race machine engineered for serious
performance. Powering this beast is a 363 cubic inch V8 featuring a
364 crankshaft, Scat connecting rods, and Scat H-beam C/C length
5.400 torque, paired with a Vortech V-7 YSI supercharger and AFR
heads, all fueled by VP Q16 race fuel. Power is sent through a
Liberty Gears 5-speed clutchless manual transmission and geared to
a Ford 9-inch rear end. This Mustang was built from 2012 through
2026 starting from a subframe to a full chassis with a funny car
cage, and it has an estimated 5 miles since completion. It has seen
10-12 healthy passes down the strip, running 9-second quarter
miles. Highlights include a Sport Comp Auto Meter RPM gauge,
Painless wiring with electric switches, Stroud parachute, MSD
ignition, Extreme Velocity Pro Series carburetor hat, Weld Racing
front wheels with disc brakes, a Jaz Products racing bucket seat
with RJS racing harness, and extensive documentation including
receipts for the full build. Drive this one out of our showroom or
have us assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the United
States! Don't hesitate to call us with any questions or for more
information.
The 1965 Ford Mustang represents one of the most iconic years in
American automotive history, helping solidify the Mustang's place
as the original pony car. Introduced in April 1964 for the 1965
model year, the Mustang quickly became a cultural phenomenon thanks
to its sporty styling, affordability, and wide range of performance
options. Its long hood, short deck proportions and customizable
nature made it an instant hit among enthusiasts and racers alike.
The Mustang's versatility allowed it to evolve from a stylish
cruiser into a serious performance platform, as demonstrated by
builds like this purpose-built drag car.
