For Sale: 1962 Cadillac Series 62 in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

INTRODUCTION: Built by one of the most honored custom car shops in the country-Rad Rides by Troy. The motor, transmission and rear end were installed by Murray Customs in Texas. It has even been featured in Hot Rod magazine. This meticulous body-off-frame build is ready to be driven anywhere, yet refined enough to be shown anywhere. It presents like it was restored yesterday. This is an opportunity to own an incredible car at a fraction of the cost to have it built and without the wait!

EXTERIOR: Unmistakably custom, yet undeniably a 1962 Cadillac. The body was carefully cleaned up by removing much of the trim, emblems, antenna and even the door handles. The cowl vents were filled and the fender skirts were welded in and smoothed, leaving the body absolutely laser-straight. Every square inch was refinished in a striking two-tone combination of Granite Pearl over Flamin Red, separated with very tasteful airbrushed striping that even carries into the door jambs. The paint alone is claimed to be a $65,000 job. All of the chrome and stainless trim has been restored, complementing the sleek look. A rich black canvas convertible top finishes it off. It sits proudly on 20-inch Billet Specialties wheels that resemble the original Cadillac hubcaps, wrapped in performance tires. The weatherstrips and glass are in excellent condition.

INTERIOR: Keeping with the same clean, tasteful design, the interior has been professionally upholstered with excellent fit and finish-no loose corners. The seats are firm and well cushioned, all wrapped in actual leather. Custom door panels were custom crafted to resemble the originals, maintaining the Cadillac character. All of the interior chrome and trim is sparkling fresh. It features a tilt steering column with a Budnik steering wheel, a custom-made console and custom A/C vents. The headlight control and clock have frosted lenses, and the clock has been upgraded with a quartz movement. The digital controls by Air Ride Technologies is discreetly installed in the ashtray. A stereo system with hidden amplifiers and built-in speakers provides modern sound. It's finished with premium carpet, floor mats and seat belts front and back.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Not just a showstopper-this engine is extremely powerful and practical. It's powered by a GM LS3 6.2L aluminum crate motor. It features ceramic coated exhaust manifolds and a very clean Front Runner accessory drive system with a mini A/C compressor, serpentine pulleys, modern alternator and power steering with a remote reservoir. The firewall and inner fenders have been smoothed and detailed, along with a custom front filler panel, all painted to match the car. It's equipped with power brakes and stainless hardware throughout. An aluminum radiator with an electric fan keeps it running cool. A custom engine cover and intake tube finish it off, and the underside of the hood is neatly detailed as well.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is completely boxed and upholstered, including the underside of the trunk lid. It features a carpeted floor, and behind the panels are concealed battery and stereo components, keeping everything neatly hidden while maintaining the clean custom presentation.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a thorough restoration. Special care was taken to keep everything tucked up neatly with nothing hanging down, a Rad Rides trait. The front control arms were boxed, and the frame and chassis components were prepped and painted smooth. Custom stainless panels were fitted along the frame for a very clean presentation. The suspension and steering were completely rebuilt and upgraded with a RideTech air ride system and adjustable gas shocks. A custom dual exhaust system was neatly installed with stainless mufflers. The fuel system features a custom tank compatible with the fuel-injected motor. The brake system was completely redone and upgraded with drilled and slotted disc brakes in front. Looking up at the motor, it's clean and detailed with an aluminum oil pan and a high-torque starter. The transmission has been upgraded to a 4L80E overdrive automatic, and out back is a heavy-duty Fab 9 rear end. The floors are rock solid and finished with a neatly applied undercoating.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.

CONCLUSION: This is a rare opportunity to own a first class custom built by one of the most talented and sought-after customizers in the country. The difference in fit, finish and function between this car and most other customs is immediately apparent. Don't miss out!
