2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty
This big Ford was purchased originally in New Lebanon, NY and spent all of it's life here in New England. The second owner also registered it as a commercial vehicle and our guess it was used for a business by both of the first two owners. From NY it went to Whaling City Ford in New London, CT where it sold to owner 2, that person had it only for 3 years and traded it back in to Whaling City where the sister of the current owner bought it.
Her brother tells me that she was involved in an accident in a much smaller car and vowed to not own another car, so she bought this F-250 Super Duty.
The CarFax shows it was well cared for, but was involved in two minor fender benders. The first involved the left rear and it appears as though that bedside may have been repainted. The 2nd accident has no information listed, just that Damage was Reported.
The sister drove the truck as a daily driver throughout southern New England, only amassing an average of about 3500 miles per year. She took good care of it as well, most of the service being done locally either at the dealership or at the local Midas. Her brother handled the regular oil changes. Unfortunately, his sister passed last year and he doesn't need a third truck so he's selling this one.
This truck is a conundrum of a New England vehicle.
The body and paint are in very good condition and the interior looks just as good... Much better than an average CT truck with 117K miles. The 5.4L engine fires right up and runs and drives well. All the interior electronics and all the lights work.
When you dive underneath, you find the typical New England rig.
While no where near as bad as I've seen, the frame shows the average amount of surface rust, but the inner bed rails (not the bed mounts) that run perpendicular to the bed show signs of heavy corrosion. The front spring brackets do as well. These are readily available online for around $150 each and the average DIY shadetree mechanic can replace them with a grinder, a jack and some wrenches. They don't need to be replaced at the moment, but they will eventually.
The exterior is painted in Pueblo Gold and is in excellent condition. There are hardly any nicks or chips in it. There is a small crack along the left side bed where it was probably repainted.
The Prairie tan cloth interior features PS, Power disc brakes all the way around, power locks, power windows, AM/FM CD player, cruise control, AC (which blows nice and cold), tilt wheel, intermittent wipers, fold down center armrest that opens for additional storage, power mirrors, auxiliary light switches, dash operated 4WD system, large glove box, trailer brake controller, towing package, tinted windows and more. It is in VERY good condition.
Under the truck the front axle is a standard coil sprung Dana 60 with manually locking hubs. The transmission is the Torque-Shift 5 speed auto and runs through the chain driven NP273 transfer case and out to the 3.73 limited slip Sterling 10.5 rear. Both axles have disc brakes.
The tires and rims all do what they should but again, wouldn't be a bad idea to put replacement of these on the list for the future. The tires are currently Kelly Edge AT's in 275/70/17. They're in good condition but are dated 2013.
Overall, you have a great truck that will last you another 100K miles. It will need some TLC underneath but will do what you need a big F-250 Super Duty to do.
Asking price from the brother is $10,000, negotiable.
