Harvester 1000D for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The 1966
International Harvester 1000D was a popular �-ton Light Line pickup
truck, offering a range of engines and wheelbases, including a
119-inch chassis for the Travel-all station wagon. The 1000D is
part of the D-series lineup.
Exterior:
From factory, the truck was finished in Alpine White (9120), still
wears the same paint which shows some age and patina. Brings the
whole farm truck vibe truly together. Equipped with a stepside bed,
additional exterior details include front reenforced bumper, and
oversized tow mirrors. The 1966 IH pickups featured a boxed,
no-nonsense design that emphasized functionality over flash. It had
a distinct grille with horizontal chrome bars, square headlight
bezels, and a flat, broad front end.
Interior:
The cabin appears to remain largely original, with no visible
modifications other than new black carpet and black upholstered
original door panels. Original door pulls, and window cranks remain
in place. The factory gauges and controls are still in place. The
dash fascia has splits and cracks throughout. The seat upholstery
and interior hardware have held well for their age, the steering
wheel shows its age but brings the originality of the truck
together.
Drivetrain:
The original 241 ci I6 engine (BG241) remains in place and offered
141 horsepower with 223.5 lb.-ft of torque which delivered a
reliable amount of power for general-duty work back in the late
60's. These trucks were widely known for their longevity and
toughness, with many still being found in working conditions today.
They were typically used for farm work, construction, and general
utility purposes. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a
three-speed manual on the column.
Brakes:
Stopping power is provided by front and rear drums.
Suspension:
The trucks were known for their solid, heavy-duty leaf spring
suspension, providing excellent durability, especially under heavy
loads. These trucks were often used in rough rural conditions, and
their suspension was designed to endure tough working
environments.
Wheels and Tires:
It features 15" painted wheels with International Hub cabs.
This vehicle will be sold on a clean Arizona title.
