This custom 1966 Chevrolet C10 pickup is powered by a GM LT1
6.2-liter V-8 engine paired with an eight-speed 8L90 automatic
transmission driving the rear wheels. The Gen V small-block engine
features direct fuel injection and aluminum construction and is
rated at approximately 455hp and 455 ft/lbs of torque. The truck
underwent a complete frame-up restoration that included full
disassembly and refurbishment of the chassis and mechanical
systems. The suspension and chassis components were cleaned,
inspected and reassembled during the rebuild process. Stopping is
handled by an upgraded braking system. The exterior is finished in
light blue with a white roof, and the body was restored panel by
panel prior to paint application. The pickup bed features a wood
floor. The interior was restored during the build and installed as
part of the reassembly process. This truck was restored over
approximately two years after being discovered on a farm and
approximately $78,000 was invested in parts and labor during the
restoration. The project was completed as a tribute build inspired
by a similar truck previously owned by the builder's father in
Colombia during the 1980s.
