*1971 Dodge Dart Demon*These days when you say Dodge Demon it
evokes the sight of a drag-strip focused Challenger Hellcat, but
this isn't Dodge's first use of the name. In 1971, Dodge's version
of the Plymouth Duster came out, named the Dart Demon. With
aggressive, sporty matte black accents and bodywork, the Demon
looked like no other Dart and was quite uncommon for the era. This
1971 Dodge Dart Demon is an exciting example that has been
comprehensively restored during a 4 year rotisserie restoration
and upgraded for improved drivability, while keeping the original
muscle car spirit. Finished in an eye-popping shade of Sublime
Green with a matte black hood, window surrounds and door topper,
the car looks exceptional - and period correct. Really, the only
thing on the exterior that gives away that the car is hiding
something underneath are the American Racing BOSS TT 5-spoke wheels
with Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners - something a Demon
never would have originally had.Swing open the driver's door and
you're met by an interior that, once again, has been significantly
improved over a stock 1970s Dodge interior. In place of the upright
vinyl seats, nicely bolstered bucket seats with vinyl and alcantara
seats have been installed in front, with matching upholstery in the
rear. The dashboard, door cards and center console are finished in
black with exterior-color-matched Sublime Green accents throughout.
In front of the driver sits a GT Grant 3-spoke steering wheel with
Autometer gauges in front of the driver, with a triple gauge pod
off to the lower right side.Under the hood sits a new 340ci V8
crate engine that produces a claimed 465 horsepower. Although the
standard Demon also would have been equipped with a 340ci V8, this
example benefits from significantly more power and numerous sought
after upgrades. A set of ceramic coated headers and dual exhaust
make the car sound fantastic, while a Be Cool aluminum radiator
with Spal electric fan help it stay right at operating temperature,
regardless of weather. This then sends power through a 727
automatic transmission with B&M shifter, through a carbon fiber
drive shaft to the rear wheels. To help the car handle as good as
it goes, a tubular K-member up front along with rack and pinion
steering and tubular control arms are paired with coilover shocks,
while in the rear, Detroit Speed leaf springs and rear axle help
put the power down. This Dodge Dart Demon represents an outstanding
opportunity to get behind the wheel of a classic American muscle
car that is a bit different from the typical Camaros and Mustangs.
From its striking color, to the well prepared underpinnings, this
Dart Demon will be an exciting and dependable car for all of your
summer cruising needs.*Key Features* * 340ci V8 Crate Engine * 465
