This 1989 FordF150 XLT Lariat is a Short Box with the straight 6
engine and a 5 Speed Manual transmission. This truck is a lifelong
Pacific NW truck so it is super clean. It is a pretty unique truck
having this trim level with the 300 I6 and 5 speed manual
transmission. The body is clean and straight. It was repainted once
in its original color of Medium Cabernet Red and the paint still
looks great. The front bumper is original and th chrome is in nice
condition. It does have an added push bar. It has an aftermarket
tube bumper on the rear that is in great shape as well. The bed was
Line-xed and comes with a nice aluminum toolbox. The underside of
the truck is also super clean and we found no rust issues with this
truck.
The interior is really nice. The seat was reupholstered and looks
great. The door panels, carpet, dash, dash bezel, and headliner are
all original. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn
signals are all working. The gauges all work. This truck has tilt
wheel and working cruise control. It has working power windows and
power locks. It does have an aftermarket stereo that is working.
The horn and windshield wipers work. The heat and AC are also
working.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives
wonderful. The previous owner spent a lot of money on maintenance
and repairs to make it a reliable driver (we have $5,000 in
receipts). The engine is the 300 Inline 6 that is totally stock,
except for added Flowmaster Exhaust, and it runs excellent. Recent
work on the engine includes: Cylinder head redone with new valves,
new head gasket, new radiator and hoses, complete tune-up, new
distributor, new fuel injectors, new ignition module, new EGR
valve, all fluids changed. The transmission is the M50D 5 Speed
Manual that shifts great with a strong clutch. It is mated to the
Borg Warner manual transfer case and the 4WD works like it should.
The rear axle is the Ford 8.8 with 3.55 gears and a factory limited
slip. The front axle is the Dana 44 TTB with 3.55 gears. This is
all sitting on a nice set of steel wheels with 33 Inch All terrain
tires.
