237th Engineer Battalion. Finished in its factory color combination
of Slate Grey (6401) with Fawn leather upholstery, this 1964
Porsche 356C Cabriolet retains its matching numbers engine and
transmission, confirmed by the Porsche Kardex.
The paintwork is older and has patina, retaining its original
components, including the turn signal housings, lenses, and
brightwork. The glass is predominantly original, with original
markings. The soft top frame has been reupholstered with a new
canvas top, pad, and headliner, along with a zip-out rear window
and a new boot cover. The interior includes a VDM steering wheel,
VDO instrumentation, a clock, a radio delete plate, and an ashtray.
New German square-weave carpets have been installed recently.
Chrome ventilated 4.5" x 15" wheels are fitted with 165 HR15 tires.
The undercarriage is in excellent overall condition, with no rust,
and is detailed along with the suspension.
Mechanically, powered by the matching 1600cc flat-four engine (Type
616/15), producing 75 horsepower, paired with the matching manual
4-speed transmission (Type 741) and four-wheel disc brakes. Recent
service includes replacement of engine oil, oil filter, and gear
oil, along with distributor service and valve adjustment. This is a
late-production, matching-number 356C Cabriolet with patina,
finished in an attractive color combination, and is a complete
turn-key driver with the Porsche Kardex, spare wheel, and jack.
