This custom 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS is powered by a Chevrolet
Performance ZZ427 V-8 engine producing 480hp and equipped with a
Holley Terminator X Max Stealth 4150 EFI system, mated to a Tremec
Magnum six-speed manual transmission. The engine features a
cast-iron block with four-bolt main caps, forged steel crankshaft,
forged steel connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, hydraulic
roller camshaft, aluminum oval-port cylinder heads, HEI distributor
and aluminum short-style water pump. The chassis incorporates a TCI
Pro-Touring independent front suspension with a complete tubular
bolt-in front clip, Ridetech single-adjustable coilover shocks,
black powder-coated springs, a 1-inch performance anti-roll bar and
tubular upper and lower A-arms constructed from U.S. DOM steel with
greaseable urethane bushings. Steering is provided by a power
rack-and-pinion system with TCI custom 2-inch drop spindles and
custom steering arms. The rear suspension uses a TCI torque arm
system with Ridetech single-adjustable coilover shocks,
high-performance link bars, adjustable Panhard bar, torque arm with
slider and reinforcing flanges, coilover crossmember, subframe
connectors and rear anti-roll bar. The drivetrain is completed by a
Currie 9-inch rear end with fabricated housing, 35-spline axles,
nodular iron race case, aluminum big-bearing support and Detroit
Truetrac differential with gear ratios available from 3.00 to 4.56.
Stopping is handled by 13-inch Wilwood drilled and slotted rotors
with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers. The
exterior features custom-fit front and rear bumpers and the car
rides on Intro wheels measuring 18x8 in the front and 19x11 in the
rear, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires sized 245/45ZR18
and 315/35ZR19. The interior features Procar by SCAT Rally seats
with heaters, Classic Instruments gauges and a Vintage Air
climate-control system.
