The car was purchased in 1990 from the Toronto area factory-authorized Alfa Romeo Dealer Maranello Motors. The Dealership had taken the car as a trade-in from the original owner for an Alfa Romeo sedan. The owner of Maranello Motors had an Alfa 3.0 V6 engine installed in the GTV6 to enhance the overall performance. The 3.0 engine is a direct fit to the car as it is the same external size as the 2.5 engine. This is not an uncommon upgrade since the Alfa Romeo factory had produced the original car with the 3.0 V6 engine for sale in South Africa. My GTV6 has always been kept in a dry garage, never driven in winter, and maintained to the highest standards. Showing no corrosion, the car would be described as in excellent/concours condition. There have been no accidents during my ownership. The car has working power windows+ mirrors, AC, heated rear window and the original AM-FM cassette stereo. The original factory Alfa Red paint finish and original black/ grey pinstripe cloth interior with Recaro Seats are in excellent condition. The car is noticeably faster than the 2.5L GTV6 and retains the same excellent handling attributes of the front engine and rear transaxle design with the De-Dion rear suspension, inboard rear Brembo disc brakes and Bilstein shock absorbers. Up-graded 16x7 inch OZ light alloy Italian- manufactured Superturismo wheels with 205-16 summer-only Bridgestone tires are on the car with the same wheel and tire as a spare in the trunk. The original factory-issued 15" Speedline Wheels (5) are in excellent undamaged condition and included with the car. A service in 2025 included a new timing belt, water pump and a new Bosch battery. The car runs very smoothly with strong acceleration. The manual transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation. This GTV6 would be considered as a very rare example of the last years of the series.
