174-day United Auto Workers strike at the Norwood and Lordstown
assembly plants. With production halted for nearly half the year,
only 2,575 Z28 models were produced in 1972, making it the rarest
Z28 from the 1970-1973 second-generation production run. Engine &
Performance:Rebuilt 327cu V8: While the factory 1972 Z28 came with
a 350ci LT1, this vehicle features a rebuilt 327 cubic inch V8 with
21,235 miles on the build. Fuel System: Equipped with a performance
Holley carburetor for optimized fuel delivery.Transmission: A
unique hybrid setup featuring a 4-speed manual shifter paired with
a Turbo 400 (TH400) transmission. Note: The TH400 is traditionally
a heavy-duty 3-speed automatic, often swapped into high-performance
builds for its durability.Rear End: Features a robust 8.5" 10-bolt
rear end, a "corporate" axle introduced in the early '70s known for
balancing strength and reliability. Exterior & Interior Aesthetics
- Color Scheme: Finished in a striking Burnt Orange exterior paint,
