Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 27th year in the
classic and muscle car business. O.K. Oldsmobile guys, here's some
juicy red meat for all of you who say we don't carry enough old
Olds'. The Oldsmobile 4-4-2 was that division's response to the
unexpected success of rival Pontiac's GTO, the progenitor of the
muscle car. Caught off guard by the GTO, Olds responded quickly
with off-the-shelf parts and the 4-4-2 moniker indicated a 4-bbl
carburetor, 4-speed transmission, and dual exhaust. By the time
this incredible 1969 4-4-2 Holiday Coupe came along many customers
wanted an automatic transmission, so the numbers now stood for a
400 ci engine, a 4bbl carburetor, and dual exhaust. Beneath the
dual striped hood (W42) you'll find the stout, numbers matching
(BCN 396026G, VD 338267) 400 V8 that's been fortified with an
Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum intake manifold as well as
ceramic coated headers. Additional features include power steering
(N40), power front disc brakes (JL2), Four-Season air conditioning
(C60), stout TH400 automatic transmission (M40), Anti-Spin rear
axle (G80), console (D55), AM/FM Stereophonic Radio (U58), Stereo
Tape Player (U57), Custom-Sport steering wheel (N54), and Super
Stock II wheels (N66) wrapped with correct F70-14 bias ply tires.
This is an astoundingly well-preserved automobile that drives like
a dream. Documentation includes original window sticker,
Protect-o-Plate, broadcast card, and owner's manual. The owner
history shows the original buyer, M.L. Earnhardt of North Carolina,
left the car to his son Tommy who built engines for various NASCAR
teams. I couldn't find a direct connection to Dale, but they've got
to be cousins, right?! One more outstanding cruiser from the Texas
Hill Country's premier source for top-shelf muscle machines and the
team that can make your dream a reality. Street Dreams
