Numbers Matching 327c.i./350hp L79 | Glen Green over Saddle Leather
| NCRS Shipping Data Report | New Arrival!
This 1965 L79 Corvette Convertible is a rare and highly desirable
example, beautifully finished in factory-correct Glen Green (900GG)
over Saddle leather (421BA) a stunning and seldom-seen color
combination that perfectly captures mid-year Corvette style.
According to the NCRS Shipping Data Report, this exceptional car
was built on March 31, 1965 and delivered new to Prout Chevrolet of
Elyria, Ohio, adding documented provenance to an already special
example.
Recently emerging from long-term collector ownership, this Corvette
stands tall as an outstanding show and go convertible that was
restored to be enjoyed on the road. L79 Corvettes are rare in their
own right, and Glen Green examples are few and far between, making
this car a standout among 1965 models.
Under the hood sits the numbers-matching 327/350 horsepower L79 V8
engine. The block (3782870) and cylinder heads (3782461) feature
early January 1965 casting dates, correct for an L79 application.
Further reinforcing its authenticity, the engine is topped with the
correct Winters aluminum intake manifold (3844461) paired to a
proper Holley 3849804 List 2818-1 four-barrel carburetor.
Delco-Remy components include the distributor (111196), a Delco
starter, and a Delco alternator dated March 1, 1965 all consistent
with the cars production timeline.
Shifting duties are handled by a correct Muncie 4-speed manual
transmission while power is delivered to a 3.55 Positraction rear
end coded AN and dated March 1965, correct to the vehicle.
Desirable color combo! Very good fit and finishes throughout with
consistent gaps and doors that close easily. Looking down the side
of the nice and straight body is impressive with its smooth
contours and sharp lines. The paint has a shiny high gloss finish
and the brightwork has a lustrous shine. The weatherstrips are soft
and pliable. It is sitting pretty on a set of 15in Knock-Off Wheels
with BFG Radial Black wall tires.
The Saddle interior presents beautifully and is complemented by a
newer Saddle convertible top in excellent condition. The birdcage
is entirely rust-free, a critical area on C2 Corvettes. The radio,
clock, and heater are all functional, and all safety components
including lights, horn, and turn signals are in proper working
order.
This is a fantastic opportunity to own a documented,
numbers-matching L79 Corvette in a rare and striking factory color
combination. A true enthusiasts car that blends authenticity,
performance, and drivability that is ready to be shown, driven, and
enjoyed!
