The Jeep CJ-7 was introduced in 1976 as an evolution of the iconic
CJ series, offering a longer wheelbase than the CJ-5 to provide
improved stability and more interior space. Produced by American
Motors Corporation from 1976 through 1986, the CJ-7 quickly became
one of the most popular civilian Jeeps ever built. Known for its
rugged body-on-frame construction, removable doors and top, and
exceptional off-road capability, the CJ-7 helped solidify Jeep's
reputation as a leader in 4x4 performance. The 1980 model year
continued that legacy, offering V8 power and the classic styling
that enthusiasts still seek today.
