GR Auto Gallery is excited to present this 1971 Chevrolet Camaro
Z28 finished in Silver with correct Black stripes over a restored
Black interior. The second generation Camaro design is one of the
most aggressive shapes of the muscle car era, and the Z28 package
takes it to another level with its functional styling and
performance pedigree. This example has undergone a thorough
exterior restoration, including sandblasting and proper patch
panels to address rust while retaining all original sheet metal.
The paint color and striping are correct to factory specifications,
and the body features minimal filler used only where necessary to
correct dents and welds. The vinyl top is a proper GM replacement,
and details such as the front and rear spoilers and new GM emblems
are all correct. It sits on correct wheels and hubcaps, completing
the authentic look.
Under the hood is the legendary 350 cubic inch LT 1 V8, bored .30
over and fully rebuilt at 110,000 miles using stock replacement
parts built back to factory specifications. The engine features a
steel crank, forged pistons, correct 202 heads with guides,
aluminum intake, 750 Holley carburetor, snorkel air cleaner, and
even correct style hoses and clamps. It is paired with a Turbo 400
transmission with the stock six bolt setup, rebuilt at the same
time with a stall torque converter and shift kit for improved
performance. The result is a car that retains its factory character
while delivering strong, reliable power just as a proper Z28
should.
Inside, the interior has been completely replaced to 1971
specifications, including all plastics and hardware finished to
original standards. The attention to detail continues in the trunk,
which is fully detailed with a correct GM mat, proper 1971 jack and
jack cover, correct wheel, lug wrench, and hold down hardware.
Every effort has been made to maintain authenticity and factory
appearance throughout the car.
The 1971 Z28 represents one of the final high compression
performance years before tightening emissions regulations began
reshaping the muscle car landscape. Known for its high revving
small block and road race inspired suspension tuning, the Z28
earned a reputation as one of the best handling American
performance cars of its time. With correct components, documented
restoration work, and a commitment to factory accuracy, this Camaro
stands as a true tribute to the golden era of Chevrolet
performance.
