1971 AMC Hornet SC 360, one of only approximately 784 produced.
This particular model has been slightly modified, notably featuring
a 390 V8 engine swapped in place of the original 360, while
retaining the original 360 heads and intake manifold. Featuring a
Holley 4bbl. Finished in a distinctive mustard yellow (original
code B8) exterior and is equipped with a four-speed manual
transmission, which was the original pairing for the 390 engine.
The vehicle shows signs of being prepped for drag racing, including
cold air intake hood modifications and provisions for hood pins,
although it appears never to have been heavily raced. The exterior
is well preserved with minimal dings or scratches, and the chrome,
wheels, and tires are in very good condition, with the tires
showing minimal wear despite their age due to the car being mostly
a show vehicle over the past decade. The interior features original
styling elements like the door panels and driver seat. The carpet,
passenger seat and rear seat are in great shape and come with the
car. The car retains much original paperwork, including showroom
brochures and receipts. The clean and tidy engine bay showcases the
390 V8 and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. The exhaust system is
newer. A variety of original and additional parts come with the
car, including seat belts, wheel trim rings, mirrors, original
style ram air intake, sill plates, other interior parts, and more!
The oil pressure gauge is functional as well as the blower motor.
Some minor notes include a non-functioning fuel gauge, inoperative
wipers, and a heater that has been bypassed. The car drives solidly
with no major shakes or vibrations. On the road the great sounds,
smooth shifting, and overall solid performance are evident.
