1954 MG TF. Unlike many replicas or kit cars, this MG TF is the
real deal, featuring an inline four-cylinder engine mounted in the
front and a full steel body, distinguishing it from replicas.The
car is painted in a cream/off-white color with a tan interior,
complemented by chrome brightwork and wire-spoked wheels with
knockoffs. A shifter is mounted on the floor for the four speed
manual transmission. Overall a well-maintained and shiny finish
with few imperfections. Included with the car are accessories such
as side curtains (windows), storage bags, a cockpit cover, a car
cover, and manuals for both workshop and restoration purposes. The
rear features a mounted spare tire matching the wire wheels, and
the car has "suicide" doors that open opposite the standard
direction. Recent service includes new front brake shoes, and new
front wheel cylinders. The inner tie rods could use attention and
the speedometer and odometer are not operational. The engine starts
easily with a choke (for cold starts) and manual starter pull
mechanism. The manual folding convertible black fabric top folds
well and the the side curtains slide into place as they should. The
engine is equipped with dual carburetors and under the hood is a
toolbox with necessary tire-changing tools such as a mallet and
jack. On the road, the MG TF shows good drivability with smooth
running, responsive handling, and comfortable accommodation even
for a taller driver. Gauges such as water temperature, oil
pressure, tachometer, and ammeter are reading.
