If you loved "Smokey And The Bandit", here's your chance to own a
1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that captures the look and spirit of
the famous movie car. It may not be the exact year, but who
cares-it still looks fantastic. The black paint shows nicely with
plenty of gloss, and the gold decals really pop. The Trans Am
features the iconic shaker hood, rear spoiler, custom five-star
rally wheels, and plenty of attitude. Light lenses are in good
shape all the way around, the stance is just right, and the
tailpipes exit cleanly out the back. Window seals and glass are
also in good condition.
Inside, the black interior is in good shape and keeps the classic
muscle car feel. Cloth front bucket seats and the rear bench shows
well, as does the matching door panels, all of which are free from
rips or tears. The carpets are in good condition, and the center
console is clean with a nice shifter lever. The steering wheel and
dashboard present well, and the gauge cluster-trimmed with an
aluminum plate, houses a clear set of stock-appearing gauges. For
modern convenience, a JVC head unit with AM/FM/Aux and Bluetooth
sends your music through Kenwood 6x9 speakers mounted on the rear
window panel.
Under the hood, you'll find plenty of blacked-out components, but
the engine block itself is painted the proper Light Blue. The
engine bay is tidy and houses the powerplant-a 400 cubic-inch V8
paired with a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power
back to a 10-bolt rear axle. Suspension remains mostly stock with
front A-arms, coilovers, and a large sway bar. Out back, leaf
springs, air shocks, and a rear sway bar handle the ride. At all
four corners are 17-inch aftermarket rally-style wheels with PMD
center caps wrapped in Z-rated Nitto 555 G2 tires (245/45R17 front
and 275/40R17 rear). Braking is handled by power disc brakes up
front with drilled and slotted rotors, while power drum brakes take
care of the rear. The exhaust remains mostly stock with an
aftermarket muffler that provides a modest, classic V8 sound.
