1969 Pontiac Beaumont
VIN: 736691103464
This is a rare 1969 Pontiac Beaumont convertible tribute, one of 474 produced in Canada with about 165 remaining today. Originally built as a "custom" with a 350 ci engine and automatic, it underwent a comprehensive frame-off restoration in 2002 in Calgary, receiving upgrades to nearly every system and a Sport Deluxe SD 396 badge. The car received a 454 cu in engine after the original blew in 2005 and was lightly driven for the next decade. Since my purchase in 2017, I’ve addressed engine leaks and had a full professional rebuild in winter 2023/24; it now starts, runs, and drives like new.
Upgrades include 3.08 rear gears for better cruising, era-correct cruise control, a modern retro sound system with amp, woofer, and Bluetooth, Magnaflo mufflers, clear-coated underbody, and stone chip film on the rear quarters. Two car covers are included, and the vehicle has always been stored indoors—heated during winters—and never driven on gravel.
Exterior shows minor chips and slight paint cracks, but no dents or rust. The top is in excellent shape with a rare glass rear window. Interior features white vinyl in excellent condition with power options, bucket seats, rally gauges, tilt steering, and more. Mechanical highlights: 454 engine (approx. 385 hp), rebuilt heads, 400 turbo transmission, 3.08 posi rear end, new battery, starter, water pump, and all lights and electrics functioning properly.
The only issue is fuel expansion from overfilling on hot days due to a short vent tube, so avoid topping off the tank completely. It’s run about 1,000 miles since the rebuild, odometer reads ~64,000 miles, burns no oil, and only premium fuel is recommended. Overall, this is a reliable and enjoyable classic ready for long drives.
The car is currently in heated storage and there's no access until May 1, 2026.
