Cruisin Classic is proud to present this rare, low-mileage 2012
Chevrolet Camaro 2SS ZL560 convertible. When we say rare, we mean
it - this car is one of only 47 Camaros to leave GM's Oshawa
facility and go to SLP's (Street Legal Performance) factory to be
transformed into a super-charged ZL model. Of those 47 cars, this
is one of only 5 that were dressed in Silver Ice Metallic paint,
and the only convertible in that color - making it a 1-of-1! Making
this beast of a Camaro even more impressive is the odometer reading
- only 3.982 actual miles (backed up by both the title and a clean
CarFax)! Let's dig a little deeper into this very special
ride...
This 2012 Camaro started its life as a well-outfitted 2SS model
with the desirable RS option (round HID headlights with LED halo
rings), but SLP added a host of upgrades that really took this car
to another level - adding to both performance and appearance. The
factory Silver Ice Metallic paint is still in incredible condition
with a brilliant shine, and it's accented on both the hood and
decklid with red and carbon fiber SLP striping (decals). Adding to
that theme are red and dark grey pinstripes that ride the upper
body-line from tip to tail. The aggressive front end features a
cowl hood with "560HP Supercharged" call-out, a sporty faux air
vent, a black GM heritage grille with SS badge flanked by the
aforementioned RS headlights, a black-trimmed lower valence, and a
black SLP front splitter. As you move to the side of the car, the
muscular stance comes into full view. Up top is a like-new black
convertible top (power-operated, with a glass rear window) that
works perfectly with the black accents all over the car. Fender
badging includes a "ZL560" emblem at the leading edge and both
"Camaro" and "Hurst-Equipped" emblems behind the front wheels.
Body-color door handles and dual side mirrors blend right in, but
the iconic rear quarter "gills" really stand out thanks to SLP
inserts. The car sits atop 20" 5-spoke SLP red-line wheels with
bowtie centercaps all wrapped in newer BF Goodrich g-Force Comp 2
tires - a perfect combination for both the look and the stance. All
four wheels are backed with black mudflaps that keep things looking
nice. At the rear of the car, you'll find an SLP rear spoiler and a
shark-fin antenna on the decklid, as well as "SS" and "ZL560
Super-charged" badging. Below is an SLP rear taillight panel and a
black rear diffuser that houses outlets for the custom dual exhaust
and enhances performance by improving high-speed stability.
Prepare to be impressed when you lift the hood of this Camaro!
Straight from the factory, this Super Sport makes ample power
thanks to a stout, 6.2-liter L99 V8 that's based on GM's
award-winning LS small block. Exclusive to the automatic Camaro,
the L99 utilizes aluminum casting, high-flow heads, a high-flow
intake, an aggressive camshaft, offset rocker arms, upgraded fuel
injectors, and coil-near-plug firing to twist 10.4:1 compression
into an even 400 horsepower and 410 lb./ft, of torque. Those
impressive numbers get even stronger thanks to the fine folks at
SLP, who added some serious performance upgrades. Up top, an SLP
Blackwing cold air induction system feeds an SLP TVS 2300 series
supercharger, which utilizes a unique, 4-lobe rotor pack to back
560 horsepower with great efficiency. At the sides of the block,
dynamic SLP rail covers combine with polished caps and polished
dipsticks to dress things up a bit. The hearty V-8 is mated up to a
slick-shifting Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed - the highest capacity
automatic ever installed in a GM passenger car. Power flows from
that tough transmission to a limited-slip rear end that's fitted
with friendly 3.27 gears. Atop the engine, there's an SLP strut
brace that enhances both form and function. Out on the road, you'll
enjoy the performance suspension, which mixes high-quality SLP
lowering springs with GM's fantastic Stabilitrak traction and
stability control. Variable-ratio, speed-sensitive power steering,
big Brembo calipers, and Granatelli drilled and slotted rotors
combine with factory ABS and electronic brake distribution to
ensure this is the best handling Camaro to date. Not surprisingly,
this Camaro sounds as good as it looks, thanks to an SLP axle-back
exhaust system that roars through raucous SLP Loud Mouth II
mufflers!
When you open the driver's door, you're greeted by a well-appointed
Jet Black interior that still looks showroom-fresh. The door panels
offer power locks, windows, and mirrors, as well as stitched
leather armrests, speakers, and a silver panel with a red
"Supercharged" emblazoned on it. A bright "CHEVROLET" sill plate
welcomes you inside for a cruise. Both beautiful heated black
leather bucket seats feature white French stitching, 6-way power
adjustability, and both "SS" and "ZL560 Supercharged" embroidery on
the headrests. Both the front and rear seats are still in flawless
condition. Between the buckets is a center console with a storage
box, cup holders, a very cool Hurst shifter for the automatic
transmission, a traction control button, and gauges for oil temp,
oil pressure, battery, and transmission temp. The storage box is
topped with a stitched leather armrest with "SS" embroidered on
top. Also on the console is a pull-out USB port for your phone.
Where the center console meets the dash is a climate control system
that offer cold A/C and hot heat on demand. Just above is a Boston
Acoustics Premium audio system that features AM, FM, CD, Bluetooth,
MP3 compatibility, and satellite capability. The driver is treated
to a leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch controls for the
audio system and cruise control, as well as paddle shifters for the
transmission. The wheel is on a tilt/telescopic column that offers
a stalk on the right for the intermittent wipers and one on the
left that operates the blinkers and controls the driver's
information screen on the dash. Framed by the wheel are a 180mph
speedometer, a 9K tachometer, a fuel gauge, and the driver's
information screen. Straight ahead on the windshield, you'll find a
head-up display with different format options. Ahead of the
passenger is a "ZL" dash plaque that designates this as car number
20 in the production line. Below is a glovebox that contains an
original owner's manual portfolio and a faux leather-wrapped ZL
owner's manual with two "ZL" keychains. Overhead is an auto-dimming
rearview mirror with integrated back-up camera, map lights,
controls for the power top, and a Universal Home Remote system.
Underfoot is black factory carpet that's kept nice with black
carpeted floormats with "Camaro SS" embroidery. When the top goes
down, it really changes the look of this car, and it exposes a
black aftermarket halo bar that's been added for both looks and
safety. Around back in the trunk is a premium carpeted trunk liner
with "Camaro SS" embroidery, an SLP car cover, a tonneau screen, a
factory cargo net, an SCT scan tool/programmer with a tune for this
car, an uninstalled phone holder, and two vinyl storage bags. Also
included in the sale are the Chevrolet window sticker and window
sticker supplement, an SLP marketing brochure, invoice, window
sticker, certificate of birth, production breakdown, service
records for upgrades, three key fobs, and a clean CarFax
report.
