This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was acquired by the previous owners uncle in 2005, and a subsequent refurbishment spanning over 20 years was recently completed. It is powered by a LS7 454ci crate V8 linked to a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt PosiTraction rear end with 4.11:1 gears, and equipment includes an Edelbrock intake, a solid-lifter camshaft, long-tube headers, and HEI-style ignition. The body was stripped and refinished in Azure Turquoise with white stripes following body repairs and fitment of a replacement hood, and the interior was re-trimmed in black vinyl upholstery. Air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, and a Hurst shifter were also specified during the build. The body was refinished in Azure Turquoise during the refurbishment, and white stripes accent the bodysides. Details include SS emblems, a twin-dome hood, dual side mirrors, and a black-finished grille and taillight panel. The hood, headlight and taillight bezels, door handles, and roof moldings were replaced during the refurbishment. The body was removed from the frame, and the remainder of the vehicle was disassembled during the refurbishment.
