The EL series by Lincoln were built between 1949 and 1951 with
fewer than 300 Convertibles produced and only less than 20 are
known to exist today so a rarity indeed. These would be the first
all-new post war Lincolns introduced April 1948 with an all new
sleak "Ponton" styling with recessed headlights and a shinier front
end. The original price was just over $3100 would translate to
$44,000 today. This stunning example is finished in Alberta blue
which still shows nice over a tan top and interior. The 337 Cubic
Inch V8 puts out around 152 HP and moves this Lincoln down the road
with ease. This has Hydraulic power windows, seat adjuster and
convertible top. This car starts, runs and drives down the road
with very nice and smooth and commands attention at every turn. The
clock and radio are inop but everything else seems to be in good
working order. The restoration that was completed is correct except
for the front seat belts that were installed and Coker radial
tires. This is truly a remarkable classic! We welcome any and all
questions and encourage inspections here in our Traverse City
location.
