This 2010 Aston Martin DBS Volante 6-speed is one of the reportedly
26 examples produced for the U.S and 44 in total for the world,
representing just 5% of total DBS Volante production. Starting in
1965, Aston Martin gave the name of "Volante" to all of its
drop-top sports cars and continues the tradition to today. Spec'd
with the optional Orient Blue Metallic with a stunning Chestnut
Brown leather interior, the eye-catching option that is paired to
the 6.0L V12 naturally aspirated engine - Aston Martin's 6-speed
manual transmission, now revered among enthusiasts and collectors
alike for the DBS Volante. Standard features included carbon
ceramic brakes, adaptive suspension, 20" alloy wheels, a 13-speaker
Bang & Olufsen stereo, carbon fiber body panels, and more. With a
complimenting navy blue electronically-operated soft top, blue
deviated stitching, Alcantara flourishes and optional piano black
trim, this Aston Martin is what one might call "a dream
specification."
The DBS's first caretaker was Nir Meir, purchasing the Aston Martin
from Aston Martin Long Island of New York on May 27th, 2010. He
would keep the car in his care for the majority of its life and
added most of the miles, by July of 2021 the car had accumulated
just 19,238 miles in 11 years. During this time he regularly took
his car to receive safety inspections, and visited Aston Martin
Long Island several times for service according to service
records.
In late 2021 the Aston Martin arrived at Canepa for the 1st time,
and unsurprisingly sold in just less than a week upon arrival with
19,248 miles, no doubt in part to its spectacular specification.
The 2nd owner kept the car for just over 4 years, adding just 1,035
miles in that time by driving it on select occasions. Upon its
return, the car was put through the "Canepa Difference" process
that it had done prior, subjecting the car to a comprehensive
mechanical evaluation and cosmetic inspection. Both returning
excellent reports due to the few miles driven since it had left,
the DBS Volante was a prime example of a taken care of example of
the Aston Martin brand. With just 20,315 original miles over the
course of 16 years, this 2010 Aston Martin DBS Volante is ready to
be enjoyed with the top up, or with endless headroom with the top
down, hearing every one of the 12 cylinders fire as its driver
shifts through the effortless 6-speed manual transmission.
About the 2010 Aston Martin DBS Volante
The 2010 Aston Martin DBS Volante is the high-performance
convertible variant of the flagship DBS coupe. Introduced to
combine open-air grand touring with track-ready capability, it
retains the sleek styling and aggressive stance of its hardtop
sibling while relying on advanced engineering to minimize the
weight gain typical of convertibles.
At the heart of the rear-wheel-drive DBS Volante is a powerful
6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that delivers a thrilling
driving experience and an unmistakable exhaust note. It produces
510 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 420 lb-ft of torque at 5,750 rpm.
Buyers could choose between a now-revered classic six-speed manual
transmission or a six-speed "Touchtronic 2" automatic with paddle
shifters. This potent powertrain propels the car from 0 to 60 mph
in just 4.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 191 mph.
Aston Martin engineered the DBS Volante to maintain the rigidity
and athleticism of the coupe by utilizing advanced materials to
keep the vehicle balanced and responsive. Extensive use of carbon
fiber for the hood, trunk, and front fenders helps offset the
structural weight of the convertible mechanism, keeping the curb
weight around 4,000 pounds. The motorized fabric soft top can be
raised or lowered in just 14 seconds at speeds of up to 30 mph. For
precise handling and stopping power, it features standard
high-performance carbon-ceramic matrix brakes to reduce unsprung
weight, as well as an adaptive damping system with
driver-adjustable modes that allows it to transition seamlessly
from a comfortable highway cruiser to a stiff, track-focused sports
car.
Despite its raw performance capabilities, the DBS Volante remains a
luxurious grand tourer with a beautifully appointed, hand-crafted
interior. The cabin features lavish use of premium leather,
Alcantara, carbon fiber, and polished aluminum trim throughout. It
comes equipped with a standard 1,000-watt, 13-speaker Bang &
Olufsen BeoSound premium audio system.
