*1963 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible*1963 marked the
beginning of a shift for the Corvette, with an independent
suspension and an appealing selection of engines, GM had set its
sights on turning its sports car from a great looking tourer, into
a legitimate performance vehicle. Paired with one of the most
striking designs to ever grace a car, it is no surprise that the C2
Corvette was a near instant classic. With reasonable performance
from the factory, it stands as a perfect basis to build an even
better performer today with a great look and modern
underpinnings. This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has received
the full custom treatment - yet you can't really tell from the
exterior. Finished in Riverside Red with a high-end tan convertible
top, the only thing that really gives away what sits under the car,
is a set of Schott Mach V wheels sized 18-inches in front and
20-inches at the rear. These look great and are required to fit the
sizable Wilwood disc brakes on the car with 6 piston calipers in
front and 4 piston calipers at the rear. What allows these brakes
to be fitted is the Art Morrison G2 chassis that the car sits on.
This custom built retrofit features all new suspension geometries
with adjustable coilovers at all four corners and fully powder
coated components. The result is a car with a suspension that can
be set up for performance driving, while still being comfortable on
the road. The interior of the car has been entirely reupholstered in
high-quality tan leather which, along with the convertible top, was
installed by C&L Interiors of Tempe, AZ. Open the door - with
double-stitched diamond quilted inserts - and you are met by a
3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel that frames original-look
modern gauges by Dakota Digital. The leather wrapped dashboard
houses a clock and upgraded stereo head unit that powers 4 speakers
and a 400 watt amplifier w/sub woofer, along with controls for a
Vintage Air A/C system.Under the hood sits a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 with
electronic fuel injection and coil-on-plug ignition. Producing 480
horsepower, this car puts out nearly double the horsepower of the
most powerful Corvette in 1963 and, when paired with a Tremec T56
Super Magnum 6-speed manual transmission, does a much better job of
putting that power down. The addition of the more powerful motor
also included adding a DeWitts upgraded radiator with dual electric
fans, a Holley fuel pump and custom drive shaft. If you're an
enthusiast who loves the classic look of the C2 Corvette but
desires a bit more in the performance department - this car is the
one for you. With nearly all the modern convenience features you
want, paired with a powerful fuel injected V8, this car could serve
daily driver duties when weather permits, or make a great road trip
car that would eat up the miles without complaint.*Key Features* *
