This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Baldwin Motion custom topless speedster
is powered by a GM crate LS3 Hot Cam V-8 engine producing 500hp,
paired with a 6L90E automatic transmission controlled by a GM
computer system and driving a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear axle. The
chassis is equipped with Ridetech coilover suspension,
rack-and-pinion steering and Detroit Speed minitubs to accommodate
335-series rear tires. A DeWitts radiator manages cooling, and the
car has power Wilwood brakes with the booster hidden under the
dash. The body was stripped to bare metal and refinished in custom
gray paint with red accents using basecoat/clearcoat, followed by
wet-sanding and buffing. Exterior features include tucked and
smoothed painted bumpers, carbon-fiber Speedster humps, a
flush-mounted windshield and custom color-matched three-piece Fiske
wheels. Originally built as a convertible, it was converted into
Speedster serial number 001 to relaunch the Baldwin Motion brand
and incorporates a European-inspired design within the 1969 Camaro
platform. The fully custom interior is trimmed in Douglass Products
red leather and Alcantara suede and includes a PCS push-button
shifter with paddle shifters, Vintage Air climate control, Detroit
Speed electric headlight motors operating the RS-style grille, an
American Autowire electrical harness and a custom stereo system.
Over 2,500 hours were invested in the build. Only test miles since
completion.
