This 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle custom convertible is powered by
an upgraded 1756cc four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed
manual transmission. The pro-built dual-port engine features a
dual-relief case with oil relief valves and springs, a brand-new
Gene Berg counterweighted eight-dowel crankshaft with German
bearing, Engle 110 cam and lifters, Mahle pistons and cylinders and
new Fisher Buggies 40x35.5 valve dual-port heads. Additional
components include a high-volume oil pump, 1.5-quart deep sump,
factory OEM muffler and a newly tuned 34 Pict carburetor. The Sachs
pressure plate, disc, pilot bearing and throwout bearing were
replaced during the 2024 engine build. It is equipped with factory
air conditioning and factory heater boxes. Stopping is handled by
disc brakes, and it features adjustable front struts. The exterior
is finished in AWL Craft urethane Pastel Pink over Mercedes White.
It is fitted with new Empi wheels and like-new tires. The vehicle
has a solid body and floor pans, along with a new OEM fuel tank and
electric fuel pump. The interior is presented in factory condition.
There are less than 5 miles on the build, which was completed by a
44-year master automotive builder technician.
