INTRODUCTION: Fresh looking body-off-frame restoration, detailed
top to bottom-inside and out. Numbers-matching 350-350 hp motor,
finished in its original colors. Equipped with power steering and
power brakes, making it a true pleasure to drive.
EXTERIOR: Excellent body with very nice panel gaps and no signs of
damage. Finished in its original Cortez Silver (per the trim tag)
with evenly laid metallic and a deep, glossy clear coat. Only a few
very minor flaws. Door jambs are nicely painted and weatherstrips
have been replaced. Brightwork-including bumpers, emblems, mirrors,
door handles, and antenna-looks new. Windshield has been replaced,
original grille is in good condition, and taillights are new.
Excellent black convertible top with new weatherstrips. Rides on
like-new 15x8 Rally wheels with extra shiny trim rings and
BFGoodrich tires.
INTERIOR: Completely restored interior. Seats have new cushions and
upholstery, and the carpet has been replaced front to back with
embroidered floor mats. Door panels and trim look new. The
instrument panel and console are in excellent condition, with clear
lenses, crisp gauges, a nice dash pad, and clean heater controls.
Correct reverse lockout shifter with a new boot. Features a modern
retro-style stereo and updated Quartz movement in the clock.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Numbers-matching 350 with optional 350 hp
engine in a compartment restored to factory-correct appearance.
Correct finned valve covers, chrome air cleaner, ignition
shielding, and deep-groove pulleys. Equipped with power steering
and power brakes. Wiring harness, wiper motor, alternator, and
vacuum actuators appear new. Reproduction hoses and a new clutch
fan complete the detailed presentation.
UNDERSIDE: Body-off restoration with the chassis completely
disassembled and rebuilt. Front suspension fully rebuilt including
ball joints, bushings, springs, shocks, steering components, and
hardware. Power steering control valve replaced. Independent rear
suspension also rebuilt with new bushings, shocks, and springs.
Four-wheel disc brake system restored with new cables, lines, and
hoses. Correct 1970 Muncie M20 4-speed transmission, rebuilt
driveshaft, and correct 3.36 posi rear end. New correct dual
exhaust with square tips exiting the valance. Clean fiberglass
floors, excellent spare tire carrier, and a spotless engine
underside. Presents like new underneath.
CONCLUSION: No shortcuts taken-attention was paid to every detail,
even the small ones. A numbers-matching, 4-speed Corvette roadster
restored body-off-frame and ready to enjoy. A fun car to drive and
a smart addition to any collection.
