"The mad scientists at Dodge's SRT laboratory pulled a Samuel L.
Jackson and went all Old Testament with the almighty Hellcat
engine. The standard setup makes "only" 717 horsepower, and the
version in the Redeye pumps out 797 horses. The Super Stock
benefits from an even more powerful version of the Redeye's Hellcat
engine, generating 807 thundering ponies; it also sports dedicated
equipment for drag racing." Car and Driver, Overview
For consignment, a 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat widebody
hardtop with a title verified 2,775 actual miles. This beast from
the east is a feast for the senses, a cacophony of impressive
visuals, an auditory adventure, and adrenaline inducing power not
for the faint of heart.
Exterior
Leave it to Mopar to come up with a clever paint name and this one
takes the cake.Sinamon Stick is the copper tone that covers this
car reminding you of its devilish charm and bad boy attitude.
Hellish features include an aggressive set of nostrils up front and
the extended fender flares which accommodate the 305/35ZR20 tires,
here with a mid 2021 date code and wrapped around satanically black
wheels with spokes wide enough to highlight the red calipers
behind. The Prince of Night would approve of the other contrasting
black features that include the rear wing, tail light panel, rear
valance and extended chin spoiler and this one lacks the yellow
guards. The angry cat itself appears on each side of the car and
imperfections include some scuffs, an area of the wheel opening
where a tire made contact, chin scrapes with plastic shavings
intact, and one arch cladding that has partially disengaged.
Interior
Simple, black door panels combine quality plastics with tightly
woven cloth inserts and include a molded cupholder on each side.
From there, we turn our attention to cloth seats with houndstooth
inserts and the embroidered SRT logo on the backs and every feature
except the logo makes it to the back seats and all are in
immaculate condition. The high tech control panel starts with a
meaty, ergonomic steering wheel with paddle shifters affixed, and
red faced gauges flanking an electronic screen straight ahead. A
big screen in the center conveys all other information including
ride settings and the functions of AM/FM/CD radio with all of the
modern conveniences including wifi and satellite connectivity. The
stout shifter is shaped for the hand and rests in a console lined
with actual control buttons. Black carpet below, black headliner
above, and a trunk finished in gray panels completes this modern
interior.
Drivetrain
The now epic twin screw supercharger sits atop the 6.2 liter V8,
rated at 717 horsepower and this one benefits from underdrive
pulleys and larger injectors, professionally installed and tuned.
It's backed by the Torqueflite 8HP90 8-speed automatic that routes
power to the rear axle with limited slip and 2.62 gears.
Undercarriage
About what you would expect on a sub 3000 mile car, and by that we
mean spotless. The active exhausts are dual and travel through
original equipment mufflers. Power disc brakes already revealed
themselves through the rims and suspension consists of Macpherson
struts in front and coil springs in back.
Drive-Ability
They may call it a Hellcat, but it's pure heaven when you get
behind the wheel, knowing you could melt the 305's off the rims
with a tap of the throttle, and smoke all challengers, as long as
they don't have an angry cat on the fender! It rides, pulls, stops,
and handles like a new car and all functions on this fresh machine
operate as they should, and we ease those wide hips through our
garage door to find a spot in the showroom. While Classic Auto Mall
represents that these functions were working at the time of our
test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at
the time of your purchase.
Whether you consider it a sin to let sit and retain low mileage, or
a sin not to drive it often, is a judgement we'll leave up to you,
the eventual new owner of this incredible muscle car. As much as we
like looking at it, it would be a sin for it to be here very long;
this wild cat needs a new ringmaster, and fast!
