For Sale: 1965 Pontiac GTO in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

INTRODUCTION: Just finished a meticulous body off frame restoration! This 1965 GTO is far more than just beautifully detailed - it was rebuilt to be driven and enjoyed. Beneath its show quality presentation lies a true powerhouse, restored with performance and reliability in mind. Best of all, it's the real deal, documented by Pontiac Historical Services.

EXTERIOR: The body fit and finish is amazing! Every square inch is straight and polished like glass. The gaps are square, doors shut like new. Repainted GM light blue metallic basecoat with a glossy clearcoat, even the jambs are slick. The chrome and stainless sparkles, the weatherstrips were replaced, the windshield and rear window are new too. It's looking like the muscle car that it is, sitting on nostalgic Torque Thrust wheels and extra fat tires in back.

INTERIOR: Completely restored from carpet to headliner! Down on the floor it has fresh carpet that fits right, reproduction mats, optional seatbelts in front and a Hurst shifter sticking out of a new console. The seats have been reupholstered and door panels were replaced. The headliner and visors are new and so is the mirror. The optional dash pad is new and the instrument panel is clean. It has the factory a/c vents and controls along with original radio. There is a nostalgic tachometer on the column and oil/temp gauges under the dash.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine is a very stout 455 that is cranking out about 450hp. It was remachined, bored .030 over, has a Howard's Ram Air cam and topped with desirable #13 Ram Air III heads, an Edelbrock Torker intake and a Holley 850 carb. MSD ignition provides the lightning and a set of Doug's ceramic coated headers sends the thunder to the exhaust. The result is a powerful, hard pulling, big cube Pontiac that delivers. All the components are new- wiring, alternator, fuel pump, cooling system etc. it features power steering and an upgraded power brake system with a dual reservoir master cylinder. It is complete with hooked up washers, bottle of concentrate fluid, hood insulation, battery hold down etc. It's all very neatly detailed, the inner fenders and core support are powder coated. This is a factory air conditioned car, the compressor and brackets are included.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean and complete! Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted smooth and glossy. Inside is clean, dry metal with a very neatly applied spatter finish. It has new wiring, weatherstrip, decal and trunk mat. It also includes a restored spare and jack assembly.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and the underside of this car is restored like mechanical jewelry, completely rebuilt and detailed. All the front steering and suspension looks like brand new, because it is! In back, it has boxed control arms, new bushings, and air shocks. It has a beautiful and great sounding, all stainless Pypes exhaust with X-pipe, polished mufflers, and the splitter GTO tips. The brake system was completely redone and upgraded with discs in front. The lines and e-brake cables were replaced. The fuel system was replaced and it has a polished fuel tank that looks really sharp. Looking up at the motor, it is spotless and upgraded with a high torque starter. It has a freshly rebuilt Muncie 4-speed transmission with Hurst linkage. A rebuilt driveshaft goes back to the Safe-T-Track rear end with new 3.36 gears and posi unit. The frame was powder coated, the floors and inner rockers are immaculate metal painted a smooth semi-gloss black. It's very impressive under here!

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.

CONCLUSION: This is a truly high-quality build, and it's worth emphasizing just how exceptional the body and paint really are. You could examine hundreds, even thousands of restored collector cars, and this finish would rank comfortably among the very best. The craftsmanship, depth, and overall presentation set it apart from the crowd. This is the kind of car that makes its next owner proud every time the garage door opens. Will that owner be you?
