This rare Mustang features the K-code factory high performance 289
cubic inch V8 engine with a solid lifter camshaft rated at 271
horsepower. The K-code engine option in early production 64 1/2 and
1965 Mustangs was only available with a 4 speed manual
transmission. That changed for the 1966 and 1967 model year when an
automatic transmission could be selected. While no exact breakdown
exists on K code convertible production for 1966 most sources
estimate that fewer than 300 were built with this engine and fewer
yet with automatic transmission..This Mustang is also equipped with
a power top, center console, rally pac gauges, styled steel wheels
and double redline tires. The GT trim package has been added and
includes front fog lights with correct wiring harness, rocker
stripe, GT emblems on front fenders, GT gas cap and trumpet
exhaust. The Wimbledon White paint and black standard interior
match the codes on the door tag which also denotes the K code
engine and automatic transmission. It also features a correct
engine block, heads and carburetor. $75,000. For details call Dave
