Timeless, gorgeous, sleeper, and user-friendly perfectly describe this exceptional 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Coupe. The iconic “Tri-Five” Chevrolets (1955–1957) are among the most collectible American classics, and this example stands out for its show-quality restoration combined with tasteful modern upgrades. Originally finished in Adobe Beige and Sierra Gold with a Tan and Copper interior and a 265 Turbo-Fire V8, this Bel Air was restored to a high standard in its factory color combination while being upgraded for modern drivability.

Under the hood is a dual-quad 350 V8 rated at 300 horsepower, paired with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Additional upgrades include radial whitewall tires, a modern sound system with Bluetooth, dual exhaust, and subtle refinements that maintain a factory-correct appearance. The result is the perfect blend of original 1956 styling with reliable modern performance—an ideal sleeper you can truly enjoy.

This Bel Air was the product of a show-quality frame-off restoration completed in the early 1990s. It earned an AACA Senior National First Prize in 1992 and was judged at the AACA National Meet in Hershey, PA in 1994, with grille award and judging cards included. The car has been meticulously cared for and still presents like a fresh restoration. It was acquired in 2019 by enthusiast Robert Dovner of Middleboro, Massachusetts, who enjoyed the car at local shows before trading it back to the MS Classic Cars Collection in November 2025.

With a vision to elevate the car while preserving its original look, MS Classic Cars invested $21,862.11 in documented upgrades and service, including the drivetrain conversion, radial tires, modern stereo, and supporting mechanical work. February 2026 marks the first time this vehicle has been offered for sale by MS Classic Cars. Dare to compare anything in this price range.

The exterior is striking, with straight body lines, excellent panel fit, and show-quality paint in its factory colors. All glass was replaced during restoration and features E-Z Eye Safety-Plate stamps. The exterior trim, chrome, lighting, and emblems were restored or replaced, and the car rides on 15” Sierra Gold steel wheels with correct bullet hubcaps and American Classic 6.70R15 whitewall radial tires. Authentic dual exhaust tips hint at the performance beneath.

Inside, the Tan and Copper interior is beautifully finished with factory-style upholstery, brightwork, and painted accents. Features include the deluxe heater, electric clock, Retro Manufacturing Wonder Bar radio with Bluetooth, premium speaker, center console with storage and cup holders, and correct Bel Air floor mats. The trunk is properly finished in Adobe Beige and includes the spare, jack, and tools.

The engine bay is highly detailed and period-correct in appearance, featuring the red-painted 350 V8 with dual Carter WCFB carburetors, batwing air cleaner, Pertronix electronic ignition, and correct-style accessories. Power is sent through a freshly rebuilt Turbo 350 with a Hughes 2500 stall converter and new driveshaft. The undercarriage is clean and refinished in satin black, with the fuel system, steering, suspension, and braking system thoroughly serviced, including new wheel cylinders and brake shoes.

This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Coupe delivers classic Tri-Five style, show-quality presentation, and modern drivability in one beautifully executed package.
