When it comes to pure class, this 1954 MG TF puts you in a league
of your own. Finished in vibrant yellow, this roadster was stripped
to bare metal and treated to a complete repaint with no rust or
Bondo reported. The finish presents beautifully, and the same
attention to detail on all other parts of the car is carried out
through the entire restoration. The brightwork is clean and crisp,
the wire wheels are in excellent condition, and the rear-mounted
fifth wheel completes the vintage look. A convertible frame is
included (no material), along with a speedster cover for added
style.
Inside, the green split bench seats are claimed to be original and
show light wear consistent with age while remaining in good shape.
The door panels and carpets have been replaced and present well.
The dashboard and steering wheel are both in solid condition, and
the speedometer, odometer, tachometer, and gauge lights are all
functional. Aftermarket oil pressure and water temperature gauges
have been neatly added. A wood steering wheel and floor-mounted
shifter round out the classic sporting feel. It's a compact,
purposeful cockpit-exactly how a proper sportster should be.
Under the hood sits a 1250cc high-output inline 4-cylinder engine
with rebuilt dual single-barrel SU carburetors and an aluminum
radiator with a mechanical fan. The engine is believed to have been
rebuilt in the early 1980s. Power is sent through a 4-speed manual
transmission equipped with a new clutch and release bearing. The
factory-style suspension features A-arms and springs up front and
leaf springs in the rear. Drum brakes at all four corners were
serviced during restoration, including shoes, wheel cylinders,
springs, master cylinder, and hoses. An exhaust manifold feeds into
a single exhaust system with an aftermarket muffler.
