Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1986 BMW 528e. Finished in
Cosmos Blue Metallic over Pearl Beige interior, this is a
remarkably well-preserved and low-mileage example with just 85,000
miles. Both the US-market and European spec E28s are lovely cars to
drive, but there's no denying these cars are more attractive in
Euro trim - the present enthusiast owner has installed a Euro
grille, headlights, and bumpers. BMW TRX "Style 1" wheels are
wearing Michelin X Radials. Excellent paint quality over a straight
and rust-free body.
Interior remains in excellent original condition. Very clean seats,
door panels, carpets and headliner. Nice crack-free dash. Gorgeous
BMW sport steering wheel. Tidy engine compartment and trunk (with
spare, jack, complete tools and original first aid kit). All
gauges, lights and indicators are working properly and the A/C is
blowing cold.
Under the hood is a 2.7 liter inline six mated to a five-speed
manual transmission. The 528e was developed for fuel efficiency and
low-end torque (and had a 4500 rpm redline) - but this BMW has been
fitted with a Turner Motorsport chip, which remaps the DME to
safely add 24 horsepower, 28 ft-lb of torque, and raises the rev
limiter to 5300 rpm. The performance difference is noticeable and
makes this car really come alive. The chassis feels both responsive
and composed, just as you would expect for a low-mileage E28.
