Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1990 Mercedes Benz 300CE.
The W124 chassis has long been one of our favorites - Teutonic
styling combined with excellent build quality, and just the right
balance between comfort and performance. Indeed, these are some of
the best looking, best built, and best driving cars ever produced
(clearly we are big fans of 1980s and 1990s German cars around
here).
This example is finished in Pueblo Beige, a rare and attractive
color that works particularly well with the grey lower body
cladding. Clean CarFax report with no accidents. A set of pristine
Gullideckel 16-inch wheels are wearing new Vredestein tires.
Interior, in creme beige, is in well-preserved original condition
with excellent wood and a crack-free dash. All gauges, lights and
indicators are working. The original Becker cassette stereo is
inop, but we've left it as is so the next owner may choose to
replace or restore the original head unit or go with an aftermarket
upgrade.
1990 was the first year for the M104 twin-cam 3.0-liter 24-valve
inline six; rated at 217 horsepower, it offers spirited performance
- the power delivery and handling characteristics still feel
relevant today. Recent upgrades include H&R springs (the car
sits about an inch lower than stock) and camber plates to assure
there are no tire clearance issues. It looks great and the
fundamental road manners are unchanged - this remains a quiet and
comfortable highway car.
Maintenance within the last year included new fuel injectors, a new
battery and A/C service. Highlights from the last three years and
within the last 10,000 miles include a new radiator, water pump and
thermostat, new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and all
drive belts and tensioners. Spare, jack, tools, complete owner's
books including stamped service book, and maintenance records
dating to 2013 accompany the sale.
